Delegation from Paraná State, Federal Republic of Brazil Visits SDAU

On May 26th, Aldo Nelson Bona, Secretary of the Department of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Paraná State, Brazil, and Ákos Mesterházy, Academician of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, along with their delegation, paid a visit to Shandong Agricultural University. They engaged in discussions on talent cultivation, platform construction, scientific research cooperation, and more, and subsequently signed the Memorandum of Understanding Between Shandong Agricultural University and the State of Paraná, Brazil. Xu Jianbo, Secretary of the University Party Committee, met with the visitors, while Vice President Lin Hai participated in the symposium.



Xu Jianbo remarked that Shandong Province is a major agricultural province in China, whereas Paraná State is hailed as the Pearl of Agriculture in Brazil. Both sides share a similar agricultural mission, placing significant emphasis on technological innovation to drive agricultural development. He expressed anticipation for strategic alignment between the two sides in areas such as agricultural technological innovation to address global food security challenges. Lin Hai introduced the university's discipline construction and international cooperation endeavors, mentioning the reliance on the China-CEEC Agricultural Food Safety and Health Research Center to deepen pragmatic cooperation between China and Brazil. Aldo Nelson Bona expressed gratitude for the reception and provided an overview of relevant situations in Paraná State. He noted that China and Brazil have achieved fruitful cooperation in multiple fields and hoped that this exchange would help identify areas of cooperation synergy, explore pragmatic cooperation mechanisms and models, and achieve open development and win-win cooperation.
