Abstract

Crops in the greenhouse affect indoor airflow and thermal environment. Accurately describing the aerodynamic characteristics of crops is important. The purpose of this study is to develop a portable prefabricated wind tunnel device and a test method for in-situ testing of the aerodynamic characteristics of facility tomato plants. The aerodynamic models of different growth stages of facility tomato plants were established to provide the basis for computational fluid dynamics simulation analysis. The results showed that the indoor ventilation and cooling effect gradually deteriorated with the growth of plants. After removing old leaves, the airflow mode changed from single channel to double channel flow mode, and the average wind speed of the airflow at the bottom of the crop zone was 0.36 m/s, and the temperature in the high-temperature zone dropped below 35 °C. It provides a reference for the optimization design of the greenhouse environment and structure.
