From September 7th to 11th, Xu Jianbo, the Secretary of the Party Committee of SDAU, led a team to visit Serbia with the Shandong Provincial Delegation, participated in relevant activities of the delegation, attended the work talks between the delegation and Vojvodina Province, introduced the cooperation and exchanges between SDAU and Central and Eastern European universities such as Novi Sad University, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Novi Sad University in the presence of Lin Wu, the Secretary of the Provincial Committee, and Gojkovic, the Governor of Vojvodina Province, to promote comprehensive docking between the two universities in the fields of scientific research, teaching, and technology promotion.
Serbia is China's first comprehensive strategic partner in the Central and Eastern European region, and the two countries have a deep and steadfast friendship. In May of this year, President Xi Jinping visited Serbia at the invitation of Aleksandar Vučić, and the two heads of state jointly signed the Joint Statement on Deepening and Enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Serbia and Building a Community of Shared Future for China and Serbia in the New Era. Lin Wu, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, led a delegation from Shandong Province and visited Serbia this time.
During his stay in Serbia, Xu Jianbo visited the Institute of Food Technology, University of Novi Sad, talked with the director Dr.Saric, visited the Laboratory of food microbiology and Biotechnology, dairy laboratory, etc. The two sides exchanged views and suggestions on further promoting the personnel exchange program of the sixth regular session of the China-Serbia Science and Technology Cooperation Committee, and selecting and sending researchers to carry out mutual visits and cooperative research. In the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, Xu Jianbo signed an MOU with the dean, Prof. Ticca, and talked with the director of the Department of Field and Vegetable Crops and representatives of experts and professors, to understand the undergraduate and graduate professional curriculum in detail, and to carry out in-depth exchanges on short-term undergraduate exchanges, joint training of graduate students and joint scientific research platform.
In recent years, SDAU has been deepening cooperationwith a number of high-level universities and research institutes in Slovakia, Greece, Hungary,Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and other Central and Eastern European countries. It cooperated with theAgricultural University of Athens, to undertake the China-EU Government Major Project, and jointly built the Sino-Greek International Joint Laboratory for Quality and Safety Control of Livestock and Poultry Food and Intelligent Manufacturing.This visit has also laid a good foundation for people-to-people and cultural exchanges for the China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting to be held in Yantai in mid-October.
