Shandong Agricultural University's degree and postgraduate education began in 1954. In 1978, it became the first batch of master's degree authorization units approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. In 1986, it began to recruit doctoral students. In 1995, it was approved to establish the first post-doctoral research mobile station of a provincial university in Shandong Province.

The school has 12 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 12 first-level doctoral degree programs, 24 first-level master degree programs, and 12 professional degree authorization categories. Doctoral education covers four disciplines of science, engineering, agriculture, and management, and master's education covers seven disciplines of economics, law, liberal arts, science, engineering, agriculture, and management. A multi-disciplinary diversified high-level talent training system has been formed.

The school has 1 national key laboratory, 2 national key disciplines, 2 national engineering laboratories, 2 national engineering technology research centers, 1 national wheat breeding and cultivation technology innovation base, 1 Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education New Countryside Development Research Institute, 2 key disciplines of the Ministry of Agriculture, 1 comprehensive key laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, 2 professional (regional) key laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture, 2 agricultural scientific observation and experiment stations of the Ministry of Agriculture, 1 State Forestry Administration Shandong Taishan Forest Ecosystem Positioning Research Station, 21 provincial key disciplines, 13 provincial key laboratories, 1 provincial humanities and social sciences research base, 1 provincial soft science research base, 1 national wheat improvement sub-center , 1 Ministry of Agriculture Grain Quality Testing Center, 1 Ministry of Agriculture Pesticide Environmental Toxicity Research Center, 1 Huanghuaihai Regional Corn Technology Innovation Center, 2 Provincial Collaborative Innovation Centers, 12 Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centers, 4 Provinces International Cooperative Research Center. A good research platform and scientific research conditions provide strong support for postgraduate training.

While expanding the scale of graduate enrollment, the school pays more attention to strengthening system construction, standardizing the training process, and improving the quality of training. Among the many achievements and patents obtained by the school, graduate students have made active contributions as the main research force.

With the joint efforts of the whole school, the school's degree and postgraduate education have made great progress in terms of subject structure, student scale, and talent training quality. A degree and postgraduate education system that is compatible with economic and social development has been initially established, and a large number of high-level students have been urgently needed by society.
